IB World School Welcome!
A huge congratulations to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie on becoming formally authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP)! 🎉
What is the International Baccalaureate?
The IB offers four educational programmes for students aged 3 to 19; the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP). Only a small number of state-funded, non selective academies – including Leigh Academy Horsmonden – are authorised to offer the IB programme which is most commonly delivered in independent schools and grammar schools.
The IB is so much more than a standard curriculum. It is an internationally recognised framework where each programme seamlessly compliments the next step in the IB pathway with a strong focus on critical thinking, creativity, reflection that develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people.
